Art Direction, 3D Modeling, 3D Visualization
Road To Nowhere is a constructed 50m diameter cantilevered circular road. An autonomous vehicle navigates the track in an endless loop.
“And we had spent decade after decade building the tech to be so intuitive it didn’t need us anymore... didn’t need to be told when to do something, or a button to be pressed. It has been allowed. Given some abstracted version of agency. And then we were locked up, inside, and away from each other. No going anywhere. What were all these autonomous semi-aware things to do without us... other than just drive around in circles.” - Sruli Recht
This project drew on heavy inspiration from the textures of the volcanic Rauðhólar rocks of Iceland.
The galley began as an experimentation with simulating geometry into a stacked ring but we quickly moved from man made hexapods to natural stones to get a more even, ordered look.
Final art direction. Autonomous vehicle endlessly driving around the circular road.
