DOWN Feathered Punching Bags 2020 Client Work

Industrial Design, 3D modeling, 3D visualization, Art Direction

Designed in collaboration with Sruli Recht. Constructed of ethically sourced bird skins these punching bags are a visual experiment and an exercise in the uncomfortable. Feathers are typically the filling of products. Pillows, duvets, jackets, etc. Using them on the exterior forces the viewer to reevaluate their beliefs and pre conceived notions of what feathers are to be used for.

These bags began as a digital material study. Exploring the colours and forms of the birds was the goal before moving into the design and construction of the bags. Neon lights were brought into the scene to heighten the colours and bring out details in the birds.
